Meet Anna.

Anna Griffith, PhD, is an interdisciplinary scholar and facilitator. Her work sits at the intersections of sustainability, creativity, and inclusion. She helps people collaborate across disciplines and communities in ways that are equitable and promote diversity in all its forms. For over ten years Anna has worked with decolonial, intersectional, and EDI-informed pedagogies that foster individual voice and creativity. Her recent projects focus on bridging creativity research and sustainability to re-imagine approaches to education that are holistic, regenerative, and develop connections to land and place. 

Anna holds a doctorate from York University in Theatre and Performance Studies. Her dissertation, “Excursions Into Otherness” focused on constructions of whiteness and racial privilege within movement practices and sports. Anna’s background in dance, physical theatre, and mindfulness practices informs her approach to teaching which can be best described as embodied pedagogy. She holds a certificate in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) from the University of Peace, Earth Charter International, and the UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development. Her research into creativity and sustainability within the Creativity Lab project explores the interconnections between art, community, and climate action. Current research projects include The Creativity Lab for Climate Resilience and Regenerative Education: Aligning ESD and Indigenous Pedagogies. She is an Assistant Professor in the School of Creative Arts at the University of the Fraser Valley.
